Family Friendly Rights and Flexible Working
Jersey has a range of family-friendly rights and related laws. These include maternity leave, parental and adoption leave, and provisions preventing dismissal on the ground of pregnancy, maternity or adoption.
In terms of flexible working, employees have the right to request changes to terms and conditions relating to their:
- hours of work;
- times of work;
- place of work.
These statutory provisions are likely to be of particular importance as businesses and employees adjust in the light of Covid-19.
We advise employees and employers on their rights and obligations, as well as providing training.
When it comes to enforcement of rights, we regularly appear in Jersey’s Employment and Discrimination Tribunal and are familiar with all aspects of the process.
