Rebecca is an Associate in the corporate team, advising and assisting on both employment and corporate law matters.
On a day-to-day basis, Rebecca’s work includes advising on compromise agreements and other contentious employment matters such as unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal and discrimination claims, acting for both employers and employees. Rebecca also assists the busy mergers and acquisitions team with business sales and purchases and provides advice and opinions on a variety of corporate and trust matters.
Previously, Rebecca spent two years in the private client department, where her work consisted of will drafting for both Jersey residents and offshore clients, administering local and foreign estates and preparing and advising on lasting powers of attorney.
Rebecca was a bursary student with Viberts having been a part of the firm since 2015, before completing her legal studies in the UK. Rebecca achieved a 2:1 in her LLB (Hons) degree at the University of East Anglia before going on to attain a Distinction in her Legal Practice Course and in her Masters in Professional Legal Practice (LLM), with the University of Law.
Rebecca has recently joined both the Steering Group and the Advisory Council for Policy Centre Jersey – an independent organisation whose aim is to increase policy engagement in Jersey by undertaking research, publishing up to date briefings and papers on key issues and providing a forum for discussion.
